So having a wee bit of time off this weekend, I decided to put that time to good use. I poured my heart into the gym. I know, it sounds crazy! Free time to do whatever I want? I spend it sweating and slaving on the elliptical. Dragging myself to work out was the challenge, but once there, I discovered that it wasn't going to be as difficult as I had thought because I had my girls.
The E Channel had Sex and The City re-runs going all weekend and I immediately knew that this was going to be the best piece of cake. And calorie free too! See way back when, I used to have this old tread mill and this old mini TV/VCR thingie. Armed with multiple Sex and The City VHS tapes, I would pop one in the TV/VCR and work out uninterrupted. Each episode is 30 minutes long and most of the time I would squeeze in two episodes and never even look at the timer on my exercise machine. Only good friends like Carrie, Miranda, Charlotte and Samantha could keep me from caring how much longer I had to go.
And the same thing happened this weekend. The girls were back and I had some sick workouts without the dread of the actual workout. I actually enjoyed it! Go figure. So this morning when I trudged on to the task at hand, I found that my little ipod and Good Morning America just weren't doing the trick. It was then that I switched to the E Channel and there they were! My favorite girls just waiting for me and encouraging me on.
I can't assume that they will be there everyday, I can only hope, but I can tell you this: When I am done writing this post, I'm going on the hunt for my old friend Mr. TV/VCR and my old Sex and The City VHS tapes. For now, I don't want to sweat it out without them. Like an old friend who knows you best. My girls are back.

Can I watch you sweat & slave ??
Damn they look TIRED!
Man, I loooved that show when it first came out. I watched it until the end, but man - Carrie got on my effing NERVES with all her squealing the last season.
Wouldn't it be nice if NetFlix had them "On Demand"? THen you wouldn't have to watch the low-res VHS tapes.
