Gonna Tell You What I Want, What I Really, Really Want...

Just dreaming today..

Not this, but I found this while I was looking for what I want...

YES! Can we leave today?

Too bad you can't just "buy" skinny...

Ya, keep dreaming.

I'd give it all up, everything,  for the cure.

I'd be their best, best friend..

This, next Friday would be nice...

Some days it's just nice to dream.

Today's Special:Check This Out!

I spot a new fashion trend rising, and I'm crazy for it.

Hello lover.... Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer 2013 Collection has me all in a tither!
The bold check of Vuitton's signature Damier Canvas pattern in delicious colors and rich fabrics literally took my breath away.

The simplistic styles have an eye catching, elegance that is truly Louis Vuitton.

This was the money shot for me. One lingering look at Kirsten Dunst in Louis Vuitton Spring Summer 2013 and I was hooked. I needed to see more, so I took action. I Googled it.

It would seem that the fashion world agrees with me.

Classic silhouettes manage to appear sexy and bold. Retro drama is the key ingredient to this stunning collection.

Let's not forget the bags! Yes the bags are incredible.

Fellas, these are for you, but I suspect that more women will be snatching these up. You know how I feel about color...

So. I've resigned to the fact that I need to break the bank and own a piece of this amazing collection.
I'm thinking the one on the left has to be the one.

Marc Jacobs....I think I love you.

It's Just My Bag

I've always been obsessed with bags. I love all kinds of bags; handbags, totes, backpacks, clutch bags, you name it and I've got it and chances are I own it in almost every color, size shape and fabric. So it should come as no surprise to you that I sell all kinds of bags at The Candy Bar. This being my first few months of selling accessories, I wanted to conduct a survey of sorts to find out the buying habits of women and their bags so I can better buy for The Candy Bar.

Women carry handbags for a plethora of reasons, but nothing is more recognizable as a symbol of style and status than a woman's handbag. There are those like me who get all giddy with pleasure at the sight of a new, gorgeous bag. There are thousands of websites and blogs devoted to everything and anything handbag related. The building above is designed to look like a handbag and it houses the Simone Handbag Museum in Seoul, South Korea. A testament to architecture or fashion? A testament to the love of a woman's constant companion, her handbag.

To my blogger buddies, I ask you to do the following: Ask your wives, girlfriends, friends, significant others the following questions and respond. If you are out there reading this, and you don't have a blogger account, email me your answers. I want to know what women want, think and need when it comes to a handbag purchase.

1. Do you buy designer handbags or are you a bargain handbag shopper?

2. What is the price point you consider to be "expensive"? What is the price point you consider to be "reasonable"?

3. Do you prefer a tote or a more structured handbag?

4. Do fabrics and colors factor in you purchase?

5. Do you buy always handbag for yourself or have you received one as a gift that you liked and used?

6. How many handbags would you say that you have in your closet? Which is your go to bag?

7. If you are going to spend over $500.00 on a bag, will it be a designer with a recognizable logo?

And in case you were wondering, all handbags at The Candy Bar are currently 30-50% off the original price.

The Bag Lady

I have a serious affinity for expensive handbags. Always have, even as a little girl, and probably always will. Hello, my name is Candy and I am a bag addict.

It all started innocently enough.

A customer walked into the store carrying the bag above. It's called the Birkin and a company named Hermes makes it. That bag above is the Holy Grail of handbags. Books have been written about, wars have been battled over it and there used to be a years long waiting list for it, if you had the Benjamin's to lay down. No one said a word about the bag to the woman, but we all noticed it. After the woman left, we started talking about the Birkin. With a price tag of $10,000.00 to $150,000.00, it is a RIDICULOUSLY expensive status symbol.

We began Googling the bag to find the price and all these sites came up offering the Birkin at discount. $250.00 for a Birkin and three days to ship? Surely these bags couldn't be authentic. I didn't just fall off the turnip truck, you know. But they all looked so beautiful and the desire to own one overtook me.

I called Hermes in New York to get a price and was told by an employee, "We cannot discuss the Birkin AT ALL over the phone, but you can come to the store and we will be more than happy to help you." When I asked the employee to repeat what he said, he said that Hermes prohibits talking about the Birkin anywhere other than in the store. My reply, "Have I asked you about something illegal?" My call to the Boston store produced the same response.

Holy contraband. It was then that I got lost in my iPad, pouring over websites with delectable pictures of Birkins in every size and color. But interestingly enough, the official Hermes web site does not have the Birkin on it at all. I checked eBay, and the forty million other sites, which are all bootleg knockoffs and began thinking I could break my rule about fakes, if the fake was of quality. But how could I really know, and why was I so intoxicated by obtaining even a cheap imitation?

I had to put the iPad down and walk away after an hour of researching return policies on these web sites and reasoning that $250.00 or $350.00 wouldn't be a lot to risk for the hope that I could possibly own a good fake. Even if in reality I knew that this probably wouldn't be the case. And here I am today, still thinking about it; even writing about it, but the urge to buy has released itself from me.

I think I'll go visit one soon at the Hermes store in Boston, but I'm afraid it will just feed into my addiction even more. Look what happened to me when I was in it's presence for 5 minutes.

My name is Candy and I am a bag addict.
