So many places to go and so much to see...

Now that the nest is empty, we decided that a weekend get away is in order. But how much to spend and where to go? On my list:

• New Orleans
• Bahamas
• Florida-but so many choices

Of course price and time are always a concern..especially going into the busy holiday season, so we decided mid-November might be a good time. Now that you can literally be your own travel agent, which sites are the best for deals?

• Travelocity
• Trip Advisor
• Expedia
• Jet Blue Getaways
• Hotwire

Are there any others that you would recommend? Or any other places besides what's already on my list? 

I would prefer warm weather, but I'm open to suggestions...

No Place I'd Rather Be

I'm taking a little magic carpet ride this weekend!

A much needed little get away, because my mind is on overload these days. I know we are all busy and crazy with our lives and work, but lately I have been letting it get to me. Stress is a silent killer. I carry all my stress in my upper body. My neck and shoulders are the bearers of stress for me and occasionally I come up with a stress headache. And right about now I could really use a massage.

I'm so much smarter that that. I need to learn to let it go...

Now that I've got all this time to myself, instead of taking it slower I seem to be gearing up and trying to conquer the world. But I'm learning fast that you can't take on the world with out psychical consequences. So I've decided that a small respite, a cocktail, some warm weather and some me time is just what the doctor ordered.

I will be gone from Friday, Oct 3rd 2014 to Monday, Oct 6th 2014. I will return to the bloggersphere on Tuesday, Oct 7th, 2014 and hopefully I will have some hilarious situation that happened over the weekend that we can all opine with our fabulous wisdom.

Magical Mystery Tour Part 2

 It's that time again bloggers!

Remember last year when I went on a Magical Mystery Tour with The Toxic Trio? Yes? No?
Quick recap: The Toxic Trio are a group of three couples that I hang out with. We are a crazy bunch and a year ago we made a credo to travel once a year, for a long weekend, on a mystery trip. One of the three couples plans the trip and keeps it a secret until it's time to go. Well that time is here again!

This time we have received only 2 clues!! And while we still are not sure where we are going, we have narrowed it down to two choices of destination. Let's see what you come up with...
Here are the clues:

So that picture above was our first clue:
Kim and Kanye. Really? I don't think it's LA, because that would be sooooo obvious. Don't you think? But what do I know?
Ok, so we believe that the clue here lies in Kanye's last name..West. Hmmm..

The second clue:

This one really threw me...WTF? I am not looking forward to going somewhere smelly. I'm not getting anything here. Word has it when I find out what this clue means, I will think it was a brilliant clue.

WE have come up with two destination guesses:

Key West or

West Palm Beach. What do you think?

So, we leave tomorrow in the morning, Thursday, April 3,3014 and I will not be returning to the bloggersphere till Tuesday, April 8, 2014. I'll have a full recap and we will see who guessed correctly!!

A Break From The Snow

Hey Bloggers! I decided that the snow wouldn't get the best of me! So I packed my bags and took off for sunny Florida! I was beginning to loose my FRICKEN mind! Maybe I will find some Zen in the Florida sun.

I will be gone from the bloggersphere from today, Februrary 18th, 2013 to Tuesday, February 26th, 2013.

I'm Outta Here...

Sorry bloggers...but I'm off like a prom dress.

As of 3 PM today I am officially on mini vacation, and boy do I need it. I'm headed on a trip with my two bestest girl friends to a sunny Floridian destination for the rest of the week.This trip couldn't have come at a better time too. I think a bit of Vitamin D will do me some good!

I will be gone from today, Wednesday October 9th, 2013, till Sunday, Oct 13th 2013. I will return to the bloggersphere on Tuesday, Oct 14th, 2013. And I'm sure you won't miss me... what with all the whining and crying I've been doing lately.I promise a dose of BFF fun and some relaxation are going to recharge my battery.

Happy Fourth of July Bloggers!

I'm off for the rest of the week. Going to enjoy the southern tip of my great state and spend it on Cape Cod!

Up Up And Away

I'm off for my yearly vacation to sunny Florida, and I have to tell you I'm not feeling 100% about leaving The Candy Bar, but I'm confident that my staff will handle things beautifully in my absence. Right? Yes, right.

Summer Break

Hey Bloggers! That long awaited summer vacation time is finally here!

Time to pack it up and take off to a fabulous destination for some much needed rest and relaxation. The Daily Dandy will be out of office from today, Monday July 2, 2012 to Monday, July 9th, 2012.

I'm Off Like A Prom Dress....

Happy Friday bloggers!

It's the kickoff to vacation week here in the burbs and we are off again! We all headed to Gotham City, or New York as it's known, because this weekend is for accepted students at NYU. Frick is pumped and Frack is pissed. (he'd rather be golfing in Florida) The only request he had was to go see "Spiderman Turn Off The Dark" on Broadway, to which we all agreed, so he can't be that pissed.

So that means that The Daily Dandy will be on hiatus from today, Friday, April 13, 2012 and will return on Thursday, April 19, 2012.

I'm pumped too. I'm going to see the Statue of Liberty because I've never seen it up close. Yup, and I wanna go eat at Eataly, and I want to go to St. Patricks, (maybe Sunday Mass?) and Saks Fifth Avenue and of course, Bergdorff's and Barneys. I've just got to go to Dylan's Candy Bar, don't I?

My bestest friend in the world lives in NYC, so I'll be seeing lots of her and I have another close friend there and then theres THE MAD TEXTER!! Corey James, I'm coming for you. I want to meet you one day at The Evolution Store in SoHo. My inner Goddess of The Skull LOVES it there, and I must buy myself a souvenir. (it's also directly across the street from the Kardashian's Dash store, so we can go over there and have a field day ripping them).

Needless to say I'm excited.

Friday Freak-Fest

Hey bloggers! It's Friday and I'm in the mood for some Freaks!!

But before I commence with today's freak show, I have a small order of business.

I will be heading to the North of France...er, um I mean Florida, for a week of fun in the sun. The Daily Dandy will be on hiatus from today, Friday, February 17th until Monday, February 27, 2012, when I will be returning to the bloggersphere.

Now onto today's edition of Friday Freaks! It's our old friends from Wally World and after surveying the photos I got to thinking that there was the distinct possibility that these people were actually TRYING to have their photo make the Peopleofwalmart website.


We'll start with them and you tell me what you think..

Do you think Earl really thinks he's looking hot or do you think Earl lost a bet down at the Knights of Columbus and he had to make good on it?? Whatever the reason, the tragedy here is not the fact that Earl is dressed like a woman. The tragedy here are those white, faux- leather, ruched, thigh high boots. Even a stripper would turn her nose up at those. Poor Earl.

Are they on a religious mission? Or is this a recruiting mission? And why stop in the parking lot of the local Wal Mart? Are they targeting a certain demographic?

You know she was just waiting for someone to ask her about her shirt. You can just tell. Look at the grand way she displays it for all the world to see. I bet her mama be so proud...Now I'm wondering which one she claims to be. Bad or good?

This one just cracked me up. I bet it's a big hit at all the kid's soccer and lacrosse games.

And speaking of crack...no way. There is just no way these guys wear thongs and like showing them off. No way. I think there was a casting call for the peopleofwalmart website and these two showed up and said they would play the gig. There is no other explanation! Unless you have a theory? I'd love to hear it.

That there is some fake-ass, finger tatoo's. How dumb does he think we are? Nobody is that dumb.

I don't think girlfriend here was trying to get her picture taken. I think girlfriend here was trying to get something else...

Pops is wearing his Old Lady's t-shirt. And I hear she's not to be messed with, either.

Now this is truly unfortunate. There comes a time in every woman's life, when she has to consider her attire to be somewhat age appropriate. White trash upbringing aside, if you're wearing a wig, an ill fitting tube top should not be one of your wardrobe choices. EVER.

And finally...I just couldn't resist. Hot dang! Pimp daddy and his main lady. They be trippin' together.

Gone To The Beach

Ahhhh, it's my turn bloggers. I'm taking off and I'm going to the beach. I'm ready for some R&R and I intend to take full advantage of it and be LAZY. Whoo hoo! I can't wait.

I will be returning to the bloggersphere on Friday, August 12th. I prefer to leave the location a secret, but lets just say that I won't be attending any Happy Hours, or crashing on the dirty floor of some summer rental. I'm too old for that crap. But maybe I'll see Adam Sandler. Word has it he's been enjoying the beach too. I'll keep you posted.

On The Road Again

It's a the kick off to a lovely July 4th weekend, and I'm off and running! It's our traditional July 4th family fun get together on good old Cape Cod and I'm outta here later today. I will be returning to the bloggesphere on Tuesday, July 5th.

I'm looking forward to some BBQ, sun, fun and some good old relaxation and it couldn't have come at a better time. I want to wish a happy one year anniversary to two of my favorite bloggers who met on these here internets, fell in love and got hitched a year ago this weekend.

Top Ten Reasons Why I Need A Fricken Vacation

I'm just about ready to blow my vacation load and I've got one week left till I get the hell outta Dodge and hit vacation nirvana. Here's why:

10. SNOW. Snow, then more snow and if that wasn't enough here's a little more snow. And by now, it's not even pretty. It's fricken black and yellow and dirty, icy and dangerous. The snow banks are so high you literally take your life into your own hands by getting into your car. The street I live on is too narrow (because of the snow) for two cars to pass. If you get caught with another car, one has to find the nearest driveway to pull into.

9. It's February. Besides being the shortest month of the year, (thank God) February has got to be the WORST month of the year. We are still on that "most wonderful time of the year" hangover and stuck in the middle of "nothing to look forward to". February's only redeeming quality: GREAT SALES, on winter clothes and shoes, but I can live with that.

8. White skin. Yeah, my milky white legs and arms just aren't doing my psyche any good at all. And I've been working out like a highly trained athlete. Still, it's not attractive. Even a gradual self-tanner (which I highly recommend for this time of year) isn't doing the trick. I need good old vitamin D to pump things up a bit.

7. Burn out. Try as I might, that same old, same old is getting just plain old. The comfort of my everyday routine just isn't the same when it's frigid outside. Although a glass of wine always seems to help.

6. My Dogs. Now, you all know I love my dogs, God bless em', but lately THEY SUCK! Too much snow and bitter cold makes them think that it's OK to piss and shit INSIDE the house instead of outside the house like they are supposed to. Then, they look at me all innocent, like I'm the bad guy.

5. I haven't had one since my honeymoon. September 2010. Need I say more?

4. Did I mention burn out? What is it about this time of year that signals the crash and burn mode? No wonder they call it Spring fever, cuz right now I'm suffering from the Winter flu.

3. Every thing seems better when you are on vacation. The grass is greener, the food tastes better and everything looks better when you step outside your surroundings for a few days and take on another perspective. Even things that annoy the crap out of you don't seem so bad when you are away on vacation.

2. Everything seems better when you come home from vacation. Global crisis is much easier to handle after you've spent two weeks in the Caribbean soaking in the sun. Taking it on the chin from your boss just seems tolerable after you've toured the South of France for a week. Don't you agree?

And the number one reason Why I Need A Fricken Vacation?
