I Have An Emergen-C

It's THAT time of year..

It's inevitable. The temperatures are changing which means that sure as sh*t-we are all gonna get sick. And sure as sh*t, Monday night, on my drive home from work I noticed I had sprouted a sore throat that wasn't letting up. Christ! I can't get sick this week! My store manager is on vacation which means I HAVE to be at work for the next 8 days-sick or not. I had to think fast. If gone unattended, this could be an emergency of epic proportions.

Did I just say emergency? I think I did and that is exactly what came to mind when I decided Mr. Cold was asking to come into my body from the cold. I had some Emergen-C  at home and I knew this would be weapon of choice against the dastardly cold knocking at my door. I made the Emergen-C with hot water, because by now, not only is my throat sore but I am feeling a chill down to my bones.

It tasted good.
It made my throat feel better.
All of a sudden I wasn't so cold anymore.
The question was-did I kill the cold?

1000 mg of Vitamin C is no joke, (besides all the other sugar and crap that it is comprised of) and two days later I am still hitting the Emergen-C two times a day. But am I sick with a cold? A little.. slight congestion, sore throat gone...no fever and I'm up and feeling OK. I think it may have worked to shorten the duration of this cold. Hey! How about that?

I'm not taking any chances though. I figure a day or two more of this remedy, rest and taking it easy and we may not have an emergency on our hands.

Today's Special: Sheer Madness

So Katy Perry was spotted in this get-up recently and it got me to thinking...did she wear that because she thinks it's cute? Or did she wear that because she's Katy Perry and she's a big pop star and she thinks it's edgy and she can pull it off? Either way, it's not a good look for her. Edgy or not, its unflattering. Her boobs are too big and the Granny panties make her look fat, and we all know she is NOT fat.

Giiiirrrl......A few months after giving birth to baby girl Blue Ivy, Beyonce steps out in this sheer showstopper at the Met Gala Ball in NYC. While this Givenchy Haute Couture gown by Riccardo Tisci is not for the meek or the mild, Beyonce chooses the perfect venue to showcase this sheer creation. Where else but the Met Gala and who else but Beyonce? She is sheer perfection and what better way to show off her baby weight loss.

I don't care what anyone says about this one; if I'm Sophia Vergara and I have an ass like that? I'm wearing sheer leggings too! Period. Amen. Even I think that's sexy and I like guys....Also, she gets mad style points because I'm lusting after the GORGEOUS Chanel bag she's carrying.

Let me just preface this by saying, I love Fergie. I love everything she does and I think she is exquisite. The Fashion Police and the fashion bloggers lambasted Fergie for this dress but I. Loved. It!! She took my breath away. Let's start with the fact that it's a Haute Couture Jean Paul Gaultier, and I just love the black undergarments. Fashion insiders commented that the Granny panties should have been bikini, but I disagree. As illustrated above with Katy Perry, not everyone can pull off Granny panties and in this case, Fergie's Grannies looks classy and edgy.

Gaga just doesn't care...which is evident by her hand gestures in this photo taken at LAX on July 9, 2012. Well, ok, I support your right to wear whatever you choose, but walking around the airport in your underwear is just not wise. It invites a different sort of element, wouldn't you say?

Monday, Monday

It's a Monday welcome back and I hope all my blogger buddies had a great Easter Sunday!

It's always difficult getting back into the groove, and since I hosted my family yesterday, I'm exhausted!!

So here's a few tidbits I threw together for Monday:

• Finally, some Red Sox wins!! Yay! It's about time fellas, let's keep it going. And a Celtics sweep. So what if it's the lowly Knicks, we beat Carmelo and I say bring it to the boys of Miami! And what about those Bruins? Instead of being on the brink of elimination, they are one game away from winning the series.



• The weather is slowly getting good. I think we might have reached in the high 70's yesterday. Rejoice!



• After a stellar week of sun, fun and some R&R, I rewarded myself with a feast of bounty yesterday. It was sooo good.



• I'm all caught up on my Nurse Jackie episodes and all set to watch tonite! That bitch is crazee!



• Gotta do inventory this week., UGH.



• Frack gave up soda for lent and I swear he practically took a bath in it yesterday.



• Been using a great product to extend my Florida tan a bit. Model Co. Tan Extender. It's a fabulous, gradual self tan product that actually gives your already sun tanned skin a glow and nourishes and tones the skin. I recommend you use it alone or when you are already tan. It works gradually and will not streak. Good stuff, and yes, it is available at The Candy Bar.



• I reconnected with that Blogger/Twitter extraordinaire, Dr. Zibbs, over the week. Seems he's a Twittering big shot now. So great to talk to him, that Zibsy sure is crazee and it's nice to know he's still at the top of his game.
