The Magical Mystery Tour:Part 3

Hey bloggers! It's that time of year again..
Time to embark on our storied tradition of mystery travel with the Toxic Trio. This is our third year of the mystery trips and it is our turn to plan the events of the long weekend. In case you aren't familiar with what I am talking about I'll give you a quick bit of background:

  • The Toxic Trio are a group of 3 couples that we are a part of and spend lots of quality time together making merry and crazy wherever we go. Believe me when I tell you we have been kicked out of only the finest establishments.
  • This tradition started back in April 2013 and you can read about our first trip HERE and HERE.
  • The next trip which was last April 2013 and was a great success! You can read about that trip HERE and HERE.
  • The idea of the "mystery" is to provide the other couple with clues, so as to try to understand where we are going without really knowing where we are going.
This year it is up to us! My Guy and I have planned a fab vacation destination for the Toxic Trio to converge on and enjoy some quality drinking/fun time together. Last night we had our kickoff dinner, to get our Trio Trip vibe on, and as always it was a wonderful evening for all of us! We are definitely getting pumped for the weekends events!

Before I try to tempt you to solve our Mystery Tour riddle, I need to let you know that I will be leaving on our Mystery Trip tomorrow, April 9th, 2015. I will not be returning to the bloggersphere till Tuesday, April 14th, 2015. On Tuesday you can all find out if you guessed the right destination.

These are the clues we provided:
  • We will be traveling in the United States-no passports are required.
  • The destination will be warm, so beach attire and light clothing are a good bet.
  • We will be taking 2 planes to reach our destination. (remember-I live in Boston)
  • And the last clue was this:

Good luck guessing bloggers! I'll see you on the flip side!! That is if I survive...

Magical Mystery Tour Part 2

 It's that time again bloggers!

Remember last year when I went on a Magical Mystery Tour with The Toxic Trio? Yes? No?
Quick recap: The Toxic Trio are a group of three couples that I hang out with. We are a crazy bunch and a year ago we made a credo to travel once a year, for a long weekend, on a mystery trip. One of the three couples plans the trip and keeps it a secret until it's time to go. Well that time is here again!

This time we have received only 2 clues!! And while we still are not sure where we are going, we have narrowed it down to two choices of destination. Let's see what you come up with...
Here are the clues:

So that picture above was our first clue:
Kim and Kanye. Really? I don't think it's LA, because that would be sooooo obvious. Don't you think? But what do I know?
Ok, so we believe that the clue here lies in Kanye's last name..West. Hmmm..

The second clue:

This one really threw me...WTF? I am not looking forward to going somewhere smelly. I'm not getting anything here. Word has it when I find out what this clue means, I will think it was a brilliant clue.

WE have come up with two destination guesses:
Key West or
West Palm Beach. What do you think?

So, we leave tomorrow in the morning, Thursday, April 3,3014 and I will not be returning to the bloggersphere till Tuesday, April 8, 2014. I'll have a full recap and we will see who guessed correctly!!

I'm dying to know what you think....

The Big O

As much as I hate to admit this, I've missed her.

In the end, I really didn't watch her much. Mainly because I have a job, but if I were home and it was 4pm Opie was on my TV. Then there was that extra special interview that I really didn't want to miss, so I would set the DVR and watch it later. There really is no one like her and as invincible as she once was on TV, the move to her OWN network has been the dimming of her once bright superstar.

But don't feel bad for Oprah.

Because just when I thought it was over for her, she goes and does something exciting. Tomorrow Oprah will guest co-host Good Morning America, of which I am a most loyal viewer. GMA is the home of Robin Roberts, who is battling a rare blood disorder and has taken an extended medical leave from her job as co-anchor of GMA to receive a bone marrow transplant. Oprah is one of several stars to fill for Robin at the anchor chair, including Katie Couric, Barbara Walters, Diane Saywer and and Amy Robach.

Yesterday, GMA kicked off it's revolving guest co-host with Jessica Simpson who, sorry, SUCKED. Her silly and stupid act is very unflattering and it just makes me think that its not an act. But Oprah? The Queen of Media was once a TV anchor and I, for one, am excited to follow along with her as she navigates me through my morning.

So yeah, I've missed her.

And I wish her a great broadcast tomorrow, but I don't think she's going to need it. I think she's going to do exactly what she does best and do it well.

Wacky Wedding Wishes

So I'm really excited Bloggers, cuz this weekend My Boy, my nephew is taking a walk down the aisle with the love of his life! Yup, and he's the first one of my 11 nieces and nephews, so we are gonna par-tay into the wee hours of the night and celebrate.

Having just been at this rodeo myself, I decided to dedicate today's post to the glorious couple and lighten up the mood. Lord knows things can get pretty hectic for the happy couple right about now.

From this point on, whatever happens; happens, and something tells me it couldn't be as bad as this:

I'm not quite sure what to say about them, except that the favors at the wedding were vials of the couple's blood.

Vegas already has odds on the length of this union.

This guy has decided to take matters into his own hands, quite literally.

This is definitely Frick and Frack at the reception. "No mom, I wasn't drinking at all."

Enthusiasm has it's rewards. He's going to be a tiger tonite.

This little guy is just checking for wardrobe malfunctions...

And no matter what, remember that we, your family and parents were young once too.

We would never do anything to embarrass you.

Have a great weekend Bloggers! Dedicate it to your signifigant other, and celebrate.

Congrats to My Boy and his bride!

On The Road Again

So tomorrow is the day...Frick gets her shot at the big time.

We are traveling to New Jersey for the experience to audition for American Idol that Frick is lucky enough to take part in. Read here for all the details on how we ended up auditioning for the show.

We will be staying with the wonderful woman who transferred the ticket to Frick, as she lives not far from the audition site and the two will be working together today on her audition song. Funny how things work out and whatever happens, we connected with a great woman and her family and we couldn't be happier to be going through this together.

I won't be able to blog tomorrow, Tuesday, August 3rd, but will return on Wednesday with all the details. I'm not quite sure how this is going to go down, considering there are no judges left for Frick to see, (if she is fortunate enough to get that far) but something tells me this should be interesting. AND she still has no voice from her return trip home from Europe so who knows what will happen. But we have each other and that's just about all we need.

Keep you fingers crossed bloggers! We're taking this show on the road!!

Keep Your Fingers Crossed

Today is my big day at the store.

It marks the start of our 3 day Grand Opening Celebration! I hope to GOD it works out for us. We sent out over 1500 mailers, an eblast and an advertising campaign in the local papers for what we are hoping will be a sales blow out.

We have been working hard all week preparing the store and planning all the events. We have trunk shows, and reps from my skin care lines, activities (a bingo card promotion) and specialists coming in to offer our clients the most personalized care. We are also offering....wait for it......20% off all merchandise!!!! Store wide!!!

I have been remiss in my blogging duties this week, so forgive me. Lets hope that all this work pays off and translates into big sales days.

Keep your fingers crossed for me.

Show And Tell

PART ONE:

Sharing is such a great thing. Remember when you were little and you shared your favorite lunch with your best friend because he/she forgot theirs at the bus stop, or because the class bully stole their lunch. Remember sharing your private hopes and dreams or your feelings about a new guy/girl you liked and how you felt so happy to have someone you trusted to share the information with? Remember standing in front of your second grade class during show and tell with your new doll or Tonka truck and how proud you felt to be able to share this thing you loved or worked really hard on with your classmates. Trust between people is a great way to show love and caring. You share something with someone because you want them to be in tune with your world or the world around you both and it makes you feel good, and hopefully the share is a good thing and it makes the person you shared it with feel just as good.

It is with love and trust that I ask you to come back to The Daily Dandy tomorrow so that I can share with you bloggers something I have been DYING to tell/show you all and it's finally ready. And it's a good thing (hopefully) and I can't wait to share it all with you! I planned on telling you today, but I need pictures in order to make the share complete, and at the moment I cannot locate my digital camera battery charger, so I will have to settle for my iphone camera. I hope it does my share justice.

This share will explain why I have not been around the sphere as much as I used to, commenting and reading all of your great blogs on a daily basis. But I want you to know that I have not forgotten any of you, and at times I felt so guilty that I have not been around to read your awesome blogs and share my laughter and comments with you and your brilliance. For that I wholeheartedly apologize, bloggers, and now that my "project" is complete, things will soon slow down and I will have more time to show you I care over at your places. Cuz I really do care.
(Frack asked me yesterday, "Mom, what about your blog?" So cute, he's worried I'll abandon you people. I told him,"never")

So y'all come back here tomorrow and I'll get up in front of the class and we'll have show and tell. I'm kinda excited.....

OK? Thanks.

And if you don't care, that's ok too.
