Yup, he's a douchebag alright, but one may argue that he's the world's most bankable douchebag.Cruise does dumb things, yet he remains relavant.
But he's a bonafide super star douchebag in his own right..... and you can't deny him.

Love him or hate him, the guy is box office bank. I saw a preview for the new Tom Cruise Cameron Diaz movie Night and Day, and it looks like Cruise at his crazy, action finest.
Now someone get Les Grossman on the phone to set up a meeting with Cruise's people.

Beyond his "Jack" impression in "A Few Good Men," I think my favorite scene is the awkwardness with Demi Moore at the door of his apartment, when he thinks she's really into him, but she just tells him to wear matching socks.

No doubt Cruise has no idea of the families his cult ruins, but it isn't because people haven't tried to tell him.
I never did understand the allure of Tom Cruise. I just don't see it. To me he's a celebrity whose personna always interrupts his characters. Whenever I see a movie with him it (rarely), all I see is Tom Cruise - I don't see the character.
Although he seems like a nice person, and probably genuinely is, there still just something about him that irks me.

I like the Cruise quite a lot. In fact, there's very few of his movies I don't like. His whole Scientology thing is out there, but it doesn't really affect my enjoyment of his films.
He has all the range of a Daisey air rifle, and yet he keeps selling movies.
Sorry Zibsy, but beside Jerry Maguire, the Character from
MTV the other night, the Les Grossman one originally from Tropic Thunder, are the only reasons to LIKE Cruise. He stole the show.
I'm kinda with Shawn on this. I've liked most of Cruise's films. He was very underrated in Rain Man, and I loved A Few Good Men and Jerry Maguire.
Sure, he's a bit off kilter, but he makes pretty good movies. And Knight and Day looks like it's gonna be hilarious.
He is one of those people who is so incredibly good at his job that we can forget what an amazing douchebag of biblical proportions he is in real life.
