Running On Empty

YESTERDAY:

  • Get the kids to school on time.........My gas light comes on.
  • Pick up the dry cleaning, and other errands......I still have a few miles to go, no time to stop now.
  • Stop at my store to take care of a few things..........That took longer than I anticipated because it's always something....I gotta grab the kids right away now. No time to stop.
  • Take kids to the doctor.....Oh yeah, I was supposed to stop for gas. Oh well, I'll do that later.
  • Pick up pizza......It's less than a mile to the pizza place, I'll be alright...

THIS MORNING ON THE WAY TO SCHOOL:

"Kids, this is what happens when you run out of gas........." So, I'm chalking it up to a valuable teaching moment.

Here's hoping your weekeend is better than the start of mine....

Since I rarely drive (Sunday will be two weeks since I've started my car), I never really know how much gas is in the tank. And since I HATE buying gas in the city in since it's $0.40 higher than in the burbs, more times than I should, I play the game with the gas guage.

"Haven't lost yet," he says, tempting the Fates to smite his a$$.

Have a great weekend.

I hate when that happens. I hope you put that out of your mind ASAP and have a fantastic weekend anyway!

Supposed to get better mileage when the tank is full (what I heard, don't know if true), so I fill it and when it gets to 3/4 I fill it again. The mileage on a MINI should be better but it's really not as good as it could be.

Yeah, but the Celtics finally closed out LeBron LeFreeAgent, and the Cleveland Underachievers, so the day ended well, at least . . .

Have a good weekend, very busy person.

Oh, I've pushed the gas envelope many-a-time, and I'm sure about due for a runout myself. And it will probably be the ONE day I forget to bring my cellphone with me to call for help.

I could've supplied you enough methane to get you to the nearest filling station....

My wife went to fill her car up today and had forgotten her money!!! she had to leave all her items as guarantee she'd return to pay up...

I always fill after it gets below a half, and my wife runs on empty all the damn time. It drives me nuts.

My ex did that one night. We had to walk down a long, rainy, dark hill and knock on a stranger's door begging for a ride to the nearest gas station. She agreed to drive us, but had her family look us up and down first so they could identify us if we ended up killing her (yes, she really said that!)

The whole thing was so freaking annoying that from then on I always fill up my car when it gets to half a tank. I'm not going through that again.

That's what I really like about you Candace...you like to dance on the knifes edge.

I always say I'm going to fill the tank when it gets to 1/4 full. That rarely happens. Too many times I've pulled into the gas station riding on fumes! Knock wood, I've never run out of gas!

The song goes well with your story!
