It's a little gold Chinese fortune cookie that opens up and holds your favorite Chinese fortunes for safe keeping. You know, the really good fortunes that you get at the Chinese restaurant and you keep because you truly believe in it's wisdom or it's prophecy of your impending good fortune.
Usually, I keep the good ones in my wallet, but now I have this shiny little number to house all of my pending good fortune. I bought this at a cute little boutique that was having another one of my new favorite things-a 75% off sale! I ended up getting it for a few dollars.
When I got home, I emptied my wallet and purse of the saved fortunes and found that I had been carrying 10 small pieces of paper around for years.
Some of my favorites:
"There will be many surprises; unexpected gains are likely."
"A dream will always triumph over reality, once it is given a chance."
"Wise men avoid troubles while fools search for them."
"You will enjoy good health, you will be surrounded by luxury."
"The small steps you take will ultimately bring you great fortune."
"Many a false step is made by standing still."
Now go to your wallet and pull out your fortunes and share their wisdom here. Have any of the fortunes come true?

And most of them are still funny if you are 14 years old and add "between the sheets" to the end of them!
Scope-HAHAHAHA! you are right! I just tried it.
I had just made the decision to leave my husband and met friends for Chinese to tell them. My fortune?
"There are other fish in the sea, maybe not as young or handsome, but fish nonetheless."
I'm not kidding. I've kept that bad boy for 11 years now.
I have a fortune that I keep in my wallet that reads "You don't have to search for happiness. It's sitting right next to you." I was having dinner with my rather new boyfriend. We've been together nearly 3 years now.
My sis terwas 8 months pregnant whenshe got one that read "A little stranger will enter your life."
LOL I save the good fortunes too! And now I want Chinese for lunch.
And those lottery numbers they give you never work!
That metal object really looks like one of those pointy things Kwai Chang Caine would throw at bad cowboys - after it hit the bad cowboys.
That is the cutest thing!
The only fortune I ever saved from a cookie said, "You would make a good lawyer."
You can see that I planned my life around that fortune cookie. =]
No, seriously, I got it just before I took the Law School Admissions Test, after I had already decided to go to law school. I kept it because it seemed sort of like a good luck charm for the LSAT.
I wonder if angry fortune cookie writers write things like, "You will die today."
Cool! I would never have the patience to do that.... that holder looks amazing!
"Always marry a women with small hands. It makes your unit look big."
My friend got one a few years ago that said "Oops! Wrong cookie!"
Seriously. That's ALL it said. She's a big believer in Karma and it freaked her out, lol.
I get the fortune cookies that say things like, "THAT WASN'T CHICKEN."
Wow that is really COOL! I want one!!!!! WHere in the world did you get that?

Eeeps! I got lonely and am pilfering internet from the public library parking lot(!)...I'll have to go home and get my fav off the counter where I keep it handy!
I LOVE these things!! And whenever I get a good one I'll say I'm going to save it, but somehow it always ends up getting pitched. I think I need to start making it a point to safeguard them from now on!! :-)
My favorite fortune is hanging up at my desk at work: "People say you have a sharp sense and superb intellect." Ah, those Chinese people know me so well.
The other one hanging here says "Your day will be somewhat dictated by authority." I thought that was so awesomely appropriate.
Very cool trinket. : )
Oh, that is so beautiful! I wish I had one!
I love it, I save mine on the frige. My favorite is, "when the time comes, choose the second on the left"... Second favorite is, "to be more healthy, eat more Chinese food". You just can't beat the logic!
