Today's Special: What Do You Think?

I've got a craaazeee day today, so I'll be out of blogging commission, but this question has been nagging away at me so I thought I'd put it to all of you.

What's the deal with the tempurpedic mattresses? Are they better? Which one of you has one?
Should I get one??

Give it to me for rizzle, my shizzle's!

Not me. I've got the old stand by, Serta. Never saw a reason to switch.

I've never tried one. My regular schmegular mattress works great so I've never seen the point in switching it.

If it ain't broke don't upgrade it, that's my philosophy. ;-)

I figured that they were just the new 'water bed' for the boomer crowd.

You can get a nice 4-inch foam topper from Serta for around $100 bucks. See if you like it before going the full monty with the foam mattress.

I think they are too soft, but Gia loves them.

Should you get one?

Yes and no, it depends, maybe. If you do a lot of rolling around, the foam is exhausting. If you stay put on your back, it's OK.

Instead of the tempurpedic we bought a foam mattress pad (about 4" thick) from COSTCO for a firm mattress and it is an ideal pairing.

I purchased a tempurpedic 2 1/2 years ago and it was the BEST THING I EVER DID! If you have a bad back, then it's even better. I sleep great every night and the bed is still in the same shape as the day we got it. I say go for it if you have the bucks!!!

I've tried them and they're pretty sweet. I don't have the money to buy one though and my standard Sleepy's mattress works just fine.

It'd be better than my creaky piece of shit.

I slept on one at a relative's house, as far as I can tell the only downside is they get a bit hot because not as much air flows through them as an inner-spring (because they're so much denser).

Nah, I'm happy with my cheapo Queen sized mattress. It's queen sized! But hey, if you can afford it why not upgrade to a good one? I wouldn't mind having one of those beds you can crank up into sitting position though. Or a vibrating bed like the ones in cheesy motels.

That's neat. I'm making buying one, making making my girfriend sleep face down, and then playing with her boob craters when she leaves for work.

You are up early.

Those beds look freakish. I wouldn't want to roll around all night feeling like I'm wrapped up in a hotdog bun.

My wife and I slept on one at a hotel once. We got hot and I don't mean in a sexy way.

LOVE mine! Our cheapo had left me achy every morning. We bought one at a going-out-of business sale (a really, really good knock-off) for less than 1/2 price. Worth it.
