My Girls Are Back

So having a wee bit of time off this weekend, I decided to put that time to good use. I poured my heart into the gym. I know, it sounds crazy! Free time to do whatever I want? I spend it sweating and slaving on the elliptical. Dragging myself to work out was the challenge, but once there, I discovered that it wasn't going to be as difficult as I had thought because I had my girls.

The E Channel had Sex and The City re-runs going all weekend and I immediately knew that this was going to be the best piece of cake. And calorie free too! See way back when, I used to have this old tread mill and this old mini TV/VCR thingie. Armed with multiple Sex and The City VHS tapes, I would pop one in the TV/VCR and work out uninterrupted. Each episode is 30 minutes long and most of the time I would squeeze in two episodes and never even look at the timer on my exercise machine. Only good friends like Carrie, Miranda, Charlotte and Samantha could keep me from caring how much longer I had to go.

And the same thing happened this weekend. The girls were back and I had some sick workouts without the dread of the actual workout. I actually enjoyed it! Go figure. So this morning when I trudged on to the task at hand, I found that my little ipod and Good Morning America just weren't doing the trick. It was then that I switched to the E Channel and there they were! My favorite girls just waiting for me and encouraging me on.

I can't assume that they will be there everyday, I can only hope, but I can tell you this: When I am done writing this post, I'm going on the hunt for my old friend Mr. TV/VCR and my old Sex and The City VHS tapes. For now, I don't want to sweat it out without them. Like an old friend who knows you best. My girls are back.

Summer Has Arrived!

And it's about freakin' time.

Well, well, well, our good friend summer had decided to make an appearance after it's long hibernation. What will this summer bring us? I hope long glorious days spent enjoying the beauty of the great outdoors.

We here at the Daily Dandy are kicking off the festivities tonight with a BBQ with some friends and their kids. We are rolling old school too. Burgers, hot dogs, some steak tips and chicken. We'll have potato salad and corn on the cob, our good friend Budweiser, Carona (for those with a taste for cervesa) and I got me some Skinny Girl Margarita's.

There is nothing like the smell of the food cooking on the grill to put you in that summer mode. I hope the mosquitoes don't show up, but I will be prepared. Tonight we will christen our lovely fire pit and roast marshmallows and make smores and hopefully someone will come equip with some funny jokes. Joke and liquor are just like peas and carrots.

No room for winter tonight. No siree, it's all summer all weekend long.

BUT WAIT...there is but one lonely remnant of winter poking itself into my summer celebration plans. A reason to still root for winter's last hurrah. Our Boston Bruins will be home tonight to take on the Tampa Bay Lightning with the winner advancing to the Stanley Cup Finals against Vancouver.

We haven't been there since 1990.

Wouldn't it be the icing on the cake tonight to see our boys advance? With some good friends and some good food and booze? It could possibly be a "where where you?" moment and we are set to make history. So if you happen to be a hockey fan watching the game tonight, say a little prayer for the boys in black and gold.

Have a great weekend bloggers! Happy summer kickoff!

The City That Never Sleeps

Glee hit the big city last night for season two's finale; the big city of New York. Although the Glee club arrived in the city that never sleeps, I have to say that this episode, for me, was a yawn fest.

The episode opened to much Time Square footage, with Rachel, dressed in some sort of Mary Tyler Moore throwback outfit announcing, "I made it!". Interestingly, the kids arrived in New York without their song to perform at Show Choir Nationals. (this would only happen in a Glee made for TV universe) Rest assured, the kids were in lock down in their hotel until they banged out a show stopper.

Mr. Shue snuck out of the hotel to hit the Broadway stage of "CrossRhodes", a show he is slated to join the cast of and live his dream. After a solo performance of "Still Got Tonight" to an empty theatre, an usher approaches Mr. Shue and tells him "he's got what it takes" and evidently this is enough for Will and he ditches his Broadway dreams for his kids. (this would only happen in a Glee made for TV universe)

The kids decide to sneak out and experience New York and let the city write the song for them. (this I believe would happen) We are then treated to a montage of color, and song mash ups of more than I few songs I don't recognize. Were they originals? I think I hear "New York, New York" and some remnants of a few others, but I would have to watch it again to be sure. One thing I know for sure is I'm bored.

Back to writing what will be the most important song of their lives (why wait till the last minute?) in their hotel room. Brittany and Artie belt out a hilarious original song homage to a cup, and we see that Brittany just may be able to sing. The boys advise a "zombie whose trying to poop" Finn that he should ask Rachel out on a date while in New York. He texts her to meet him in Central Park, dressed up, and he takes her to world famous Sardis for dinner. While there, Rachel meets none other than Broadway legend Patty Lupone who tells her to "never give up". In a touching street scene, Puck, Artie, Mike, and Sam serenade the two with, "La Bella Notte", but just before the deal-sealing kiss, Rachel tells Finn she can't kiss him and leaves Finn alone on the street. (not really because the other boys are still there singing)

Kurt wakes Rachel up the next morning and tells her they are going to breakfast at Tiffany's, which consists of bagels and coffee outside the closed flagship store. While there, Rachel confides to Kurt that although she loves Finn, she realizes that she needs to got to New York and fulfil her dreams of stardom and nothing can deter her from that. Kurt takes her to the Gershwin theatre and suggests they break in so that she can make her decision. Once inside they are discovered by a theatre usher who knows exactly why they are there, and he give them 15 minutes onstage. If you haven't already guessed, my Download Pick of the Week is, "For Good", which Rachel and Kurt sing on the actual Wikid stage. I don't think you need to be a Wikid fan to feel the power of this one. Rachel now knows that the stage is her number one love.

On to Nationals! A stellar all girl show choir perform Usher's "Yeah" and we see Sunshine from Vocal Adrenaline have a moment with Rachel in the girls bathroom. Rachel coaches her through her stage fright to make things right after she wronged her when she came to McKinnley. Sunshine and Vocal Adrenaline sing, "As Long As you're There", which was good, but at this point my eye lids were beginning to get a bit heavy.

Just before New Directions were to take the stage, Finn and Rachel have a moment and they open to sing the Glee club's original, "Pretending" which is evidently so powerful, the two end the song with a passionate kiss. They then pump up the tempo with their original, "Light Up The World". If the Glee club, wrote, choreographed and performed that song in one night, then the kids don't need to travel back to Ohio, because they should all be working on Broadway. (this would only happen in a Glee, made for TV universe) It, of course, gets the crowd jumping.

Jesse tells Finn and Rachel that their kiss was unprofessional and that it may cost them the title. Which it does. The New Directions place 12th overall and travel back home.

So they didn't win at Nationals. You had to know that they wouldn't. We need a set up for next year and while I'm on that topic, are they all going to be seniors next year? I know this is the finale of Season Two, but it seems like three years/seasons. Anyway, stay tuned next season for more Santanna, Brittnay love, Rachel and Finn love, Kurt and Blaine and newbies, Mercedes and Sam!! Will Shue and Emma finally get it on?? Or will Shue and Sue?

We will have to wait a summer to find out, but I'm hoping it's worth it.

May I Have This Dance?

I thought this was the greatest thing. Some people are truly brilliant.

It's worth the 7 minutes, if you have the time.

Weekend Poop

A stellar weekend over at the Daily Dandy.

The Prom was a huge success! Gorgeous and safe are the the two adjectives I would use to describe the event. The sun decided to make an appearance and the kids had a ball. Drama -free is how Frick described her night. Thank goodness.

The Sox/Cubs game didn't go as well. My Guy ended up giving away the tix because I was doing all the PROM makeup and didn't finish till late, then we had to do the picture thing and the kids left around 6:30 and it was just crazy. Oh well, maybe I won't have to wait 93 years to see them shellac the Red Sox again at Fenway.

Elvis Costello was how I spent my Friday night, and although I cannot claim to be a big fan, I really enjoyed the show. He's kinda cute, Elvis is, with his little British accent and his collection of Fedoras. He had a go go cage on stage and a wheel of fortune looking spinner with all of his songs. He would take someone from the audience who would spin the spinner and select a song, then he would sing it for them while they danced in the go go cage.

No, I didn't get to go up on stage.

It hardly rained this weekend, which is a miracle, and I got to enjoy my nieces' graduation party yesterday in the great outdoors. I'm so happy she had a great day.

Now it's Monday and it's raining again.

Whatever. I'll take the rain. I just thank God I don't live in Missouri. Blessings to all of the people affected by the tornado.

Peace bloggers and count your blessings.

What Curse?

We are the lucky ones.

An entire Nation of lucky ones who stared in the face of a legendary curse, believed in a bunch of idiots and thumbed our nose at it. It took us 86 years, but we are the lucky ones who will live to tell the story of the Reversed Curse. Today it is the stuff of legends, but there was a time not too long ago when we hung our heads, cloaked in this so called curse.

It was 1918 when The Babe was a member of our team and the last time the Cubs and the Red Sox played a game at Fenway. 93 years ago and the Cubs have yet to win a championship since then. Maybe this weekend the Cubs will take home something more than the thrill of inter league play from Fenway. Maybe the storied grounds of America's most beloved ball park, Fenway, will be the magic Buddha whose belly the Cubs can rub.

I will be a lucky one again, for I will be there to witness it. Then maybe I can tell the grand kids about how Fenway is a magical baseball ground. About how traveling to play on a field 93 years later transformed a team and wiped out another curse.

Maybe.

But maybe not. If I know anything about Fenway, it's that it only has magic for it's own team.

And an entire Nation.

Light Up Your Life

There's a new trend in lip glosses happening that will light up your lips and leave your friends pining for your gloss. Lighted lip glosses. These genius little devices use LED lights that you turn on with the click of a button or the turn of the wand and illuminate your life. Equipt with a handy little mirror on the side, you have all you need for the perfect application on your pucker.

Ladies love them. The novelty of the light is that little extra feature that turns this product into a must have, because it is no ordinary lip gloss. Pure Illumination, pictured above, boasts to be the natural, healing and hydrating lip gloss. Made from medical grade lanolin, almond oil, jojoba and Vitamin E, Pure Illumination has 10 stunning shades to choose from. And who doesn't want to be able to apply their lip gloss expertly in the privacy of a darkened movie theatre? Lost your keys in the black hole of your handbag? Let your lighted lip gloss assist you in finding your keys, then finding the lock in the dark of night.

My clients tell me that when they are at lunch with friends or on a girls night out, they instantly become the center of attention once their lighted lip gloss is brought out and they make for a great hostess gift or a little extra something to bring to a cherished friend.

Model Co. also makes a lighted gloss called Lip Lights. The twist of the wand automatically activates the LED light to give you an ultra shine, glossy application. This lighted lip gloss, also comes with the handy mirror on the side which allows you to apply the gloss anywhere, day or night. It comes in 5 ultra shiny shades to choose from.

Light up your life or the life of a special lady. Both of these products are available at The Candy Bar, and I highly recommend you try one. You'll love it!

Just A Few Things

  • I missed Glee last night, so no recap today but I heard it was a tear jerker.

  • It has been raining for at LEAST 6 days straight. I'm beginning to think that this is our destiny; these cold, misty days. I heard on the radio this morning that the watermelons are exploding on the vine in these here parts of the country. Does that paint a good picture?

  • Arnold fathered an out of wedlock child. Well color me an idiot! I was still rooting for them to work it out.

  • My Guy is away for a few days and it has been a Real Housewives MARATHON around here. I watched the Real Housewives of New Jersey on Monday night. What is wrong with those people? The question is what is wrong with me for watching it? But I can't stop and I watched them all, Orange County, New York and Jersey. I have issues.

  • Great Boston Bruins playoff game last night. I'm beginning to think we may be able to pull this one off.

  • Frick is getting her driver's license tomorrow.(we hope) Another fabulous milestone that confirms the fact that I am OLD.

  • The Prom is Saturday and it will be a crazy weekend with the kids asking to stay out all night at the house that is known for letting the kids drink alcohol. So what do I do? If I think about it, I know I can't prevent the inevitable under age drinking that is going to take place, but do I need to put her in a situation where it is encouraged? And an overnighter? "But everyone else is staying overnight." Famous last words: "I don't care about everyone else."

  • This weather is cutting into my business. Happy people spend more money. The omni-present rain does not make people happy.

  • I ate half of a sugar-laden cupcake last night and this morning I feel like sh*t. Sugar is overrated.

Today's Special: Outdoor Furniture

So it's that time, you know, time to pony up and buy some new outdoor furniture. The set I have is over 11 years old and beginning to look a wee bit tired. I have been doing my due diligence and researching sets on the Internet and going here, there and everywhere to see the furniture. There is lots out there, but I'm at a crossroad. The question that keeps nagging at me, while I sleep at night, in my spare waking moments is this;

Do I go with wood or iron?

What is the best value for my money? I tend to lean towards the wood. Teak, to be exact, and I think the beauty of the wood is unmatched. The thing that holds me back is how the wood ages in the elements. My 11 year old set is also teak, but every year I have treated it and the color of the wood has remained pretty much intact. But do I want to go through with the maintenance of a beautiful teak set every year again? It's kind of a pain in the a**. I wonder if an iron set is easier and lasts much longer.

I have found an incredible value. I found exactly what I want, a beautiful teak set with cushions included for an amazing price, but I'm wondering how it will wear. Even if I treat it I worry about whether or not I'm going to need a new one in a few years because the teak will grey and look spent after a few seasons.

Give me your wisdom, oh wise bloggers. What do you know? Hit me with it.
I can handle it.

Who's The Dumb Blonde Here?

A blonde, wanting to earn some money, decided to hire herself out as a handyman-type and started canvassing a wealthy neighborhood. She went to the front door of the first house and asked the owner if he had any jobs for her to do.

"Well, you can paint my porch. How much will you charge?"
The blonde said, "How about 50 dollars?" The man agreed and told her that the paint and ladders that she might need were in the garage. The man's wife, inside the house, heard the conversation and said to her husband, "Does she realize that the porch goes all the way around the house?"
The man replied, "She should. She was standing on the porch."

A short time later, the blonde came to the door to collect her money.
"You're finished already?" he asked. "Yes," the blonde answered, "and I had paint left over, so I gave it two coats. "Impressed, the man reached in his pocket for the $50. "And by the way," the blonde added, "that's not a Porch, it's a Ferrari."

Cute Corner

So let's file this under "cute".

Gotta love a five year old little girl who can keep it under control during a crisis and still worry about fashion.

Glee Goes To Prom

Oh, the excitement of Prom! After weeks of posturing for Prom King/Queen by members of the Glee club, the moment finally arrived. Figgins, in a meeting with Shue and Sue, revealed that Air Supply, the Prom entertainment, had cancelled, leaving Prom without any musical entertainment. He offered the Glee club the job with payment, to which Shue accepted. Shocker, I know.

Mercedes, dateless and depressed about it, aligned with Rachel to offer Sam the opportunity to not only escort both Mercedes and Rachel to the prom, but they pooled their money together so that no one would need to be financially stretched by costly attire and such. My question is was there enough left over for the booze? Rachel, while rehearsing Adele's, "Rolling In The Deep" gets a surprise visit from none other than Jeese St. James. He apologizes to Rachel for hurting her and she not only accepts, but invites him to join her and Sam and Mercedes to Prom. Sucker. I can't wait to see what the evil Jesse has up his red satin sleeve.

Blaine reveals to Kurt that he is less than excited about the prospect of going to Prom with Kurt since the last time he went with a boy to a dance, bullies beat them up. Kurt, child-like in his innocent excitement, urges Blane to face his demons and buck up. Kurt models his version of the Prom tuxedo, complete with a kilt. Quite edgy and fashionable if I do say so myself. Finn agrees when he exclaims, "Dude, that rocks! It's like gay Braveheart", but both Burt and Blaine are worried that the gay Braveheart look will only put them in danger.

Karofsky and Santanna, both Bully Whip protectors at school, escort Kurt to all his classes so that he will not be bullied by slushie tossing homo-phobes, but as Kurt opined to Karofsky, no one seems to care about Kurt's being gay anymore. Wasn't it Karofsky that Kurt was being bullied by? But Kurt gets the ultimate closure on the subject when a tearful Karofsky sincerely apologizes for torturing Kurt.

Meanwhile, Brittany is pondering the age old question of which came first, the chicken or the egg in cooking class, when Artie, determined to win her back, sings a Prom proposal of, "Isn't She Lovely" that was brilliant. Brittany declines and announces that she is going alone and will dance with everyone else's dates. Quite a coup! Artie, now resigned that he has "nothing to live for" decides that he will help Puck to spike the Prom punch. When Sue catches him, she takes him into her office and hilariously interrogates him with the threat of some seriously scary tooth pulling tools, but Artie won't give up Puck. Besides, the "spike" in the punch was only lemonade.

My download pick of the week, surprisingly, is Artie, Puck and Sam's rendition of "Friday" that turns an oh-so-bad song into something good. Leave it to Glee. Rachel, singing solo, "Jars Of Hearts" grabs the attention of Finn, who is NOT distracted by the beautiful Quinn, much to her amorous advances. He only has eyes for Rachel and proves it when Rachel and Jesse are too close for Finn's comfort dancing and he steps in and a shoving match between Finn and Jesse ensues on the dance floor. Where are the punches? I kept waiting and it never happened but resulted in Finn and Jesse being tossed from the Prom. This caused Quinn to slap Rachel across the face in anger. Now, I would have flattened Miss Cinderella right there in the girl's bathroom, but Rachel says "she appreciated the drama of it".

The Prom Queen and King are announced and looky here, it's Karofsky and Kurt! Shocker (not really, cuz Beckeye dropped that spoiler weeks ago). The announcement sends Kurt running and Blaine running after him. Kurt is in tears because all the hate he thought had subsided had now bubbled to the surface. He decides to face up and go accept his crown and Figgins announces the dance between the King and the Queen. (do you really think this would happen in reality?) Kurt whispers to Karofsky that this is his chance to come out, and Karofsky runs out, unable to do seal the deal. The ever adorable Blaine steps in and dances with Kurt to Mercedes and Santanna's rendition of "Dancing Queen".

With all the drama that is Prom, the one thing that is for sure is the bond that the Glee clubbers have with one another. With two episodes left, and one taking place in New York for the Finals, the story takes an interesting New Direction. Jesse St. James is back, but what trouble does he have up his sleeve for the New Directions? AND I don't like or trust him. But I'm so glad to see him back. It gives the Finn, Rachel and Jesse love triangle so much more cred.

It should be an exciting next two episodes.

Separate Lives

After 25 years of marriage, former California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver announce their separation. It seems sad, really that this couple, who seemingly had it all, are ending their union. But it's not at all shocking. What would be shocking is if President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama announced their separation while in office, but this announcement is worth noting.

Marriage seems to be a detriment these days, and I wonder why most people can't or won't put up and shut up like our founding fathers did. What does this say about our society today? Are we not built for commitment? I come from a broken marriage, but it was not of my choosing. I thank the good Lord above for getting me out when he did, but I may not have chosen to end it if I was left to my own decision. THEN. Knowing what I know now, I would have ran for the hills, but in my ignorance, a modern girl like me had an old fashioned take on marriage.

Now I've gone and done it again and I'm so happy I did, pledging this time to honor and love and go where ever it is my marriage takes me. Am I crazy? I think not. I'm just hopeful and happy. Today. But what happens when that happiness fades and life throws some curve balls at me? Do we just get out? Is this how it works? It was reported that Marie Osmond just remarried her first husband, again. So what are the odds of them making it this time around? Did they just realize they made a rush decision to divorce the first time, or was there something worth saving there?

Jesse James is probably the most hated man in America for cheating on every body's sweetheart, Sandra Bullock. There's no way these two could have stayed together after the news of his illicit affairs during their marriage hit the press. But that's what society says. What did they say to each other in those final days? In some way I think when a man cheats, he knows that there is no turning back after the crime has been committed. I believe it is a cowards way to end a marriage because the act speaks the words the coward is unable to say.

Just like Brad and Jen. Brad knew he had crossed the line, and try as honorably as he might, everybody knew the line had been crossed. He had no choice, he had to get out. But what happens when there is just nothing left in the marriage tank void of infidelities? They separate. They live alone and trudge through life without the other. Maybe they turn to someone else. Maybe not. Maybe they work it out. Maybe they don't. Life offers no assurances, but I somehow hope that marriage has not become disposable.

Here's an old fashioned girl who believes in commitment, throwing her hat into the ring.

I hope Arnold and Maria work it out.

Dang That Hurts

It's a good thing I was so flat out busy this weekend, that I couldn't watch my beloved Celtics open up a can of whoop ass on the Heat Saturday night.

I say it's a good thing because I missed this happen live.

That's our very own Rajon Rondo hyper extending his elbow in a crash collision with Duane Wade. How gross is THAT??

I gotta tell you though, I really didn't miss it because it's been replayed so much, that I have sworn off Sports Center till the Celtics play again. It brings back all kind of painful memories that I still haven't gotten over.

I still haven't gotten over this:

It was 1985 and I was 18 years old and watching that game with my dad and my brother. I'll never forget it, and I still haven't got over seeing Theisman's leg break right before my eyes. So watching the replay on Rondo this Saturday night was almost as painful.

Good thing for Rondo, he didn't break anything. In fact our own Rondo came back into the game later and was able to still be a factor in the win.

And it has been reported that he will play tonite.

Unbelievable.

Wally World's Muthas: Heff's I'd Hit That Edition

Hey Bloggers! It's a Mutha of a weekend and to salute all you mother's out there, I thought we'd play a little game with my favorite Friday crazees from WalMart.

I'm calling this the, "Heff's I'd Hit That Edition" as a tribute to one of my favorite mutha's Heff, from the now defunct, "Heff's Bar and Grill".

So say he and WE! The object here is in the comment section, you decide whether Heff would Hit That or not.

So I know my boy has standards, and I'm guessing here that Heff wouldn't hit that with a 50 ft pole. Jiggle or not, the lady has to have some manners. NOT. No way.

Miss Thang here is certainly interesting....a little rumble with the tumble, eh Heffy? I say you'd hit that.

And speaking of stripes, Freak of the week looks pretty sexy even if it may cause seizures if you stare too long. I'm thinking Heff would definitely hit that.

Star light, star bright, I'll rock you outta the stratosphere.

Oh Heff baby, let's hit it tonite.

Now this is just silly, and I'm not thinking Heff is a junk in the trunk kind of guy. No way Heff'd hit that. Maybe.

Now I know little something about skin and in my professional opinion, my girl here looks a little old to be parading the cheeks of her ass around town. Unless Heff has a cottage cheezed old lady on his bucket list, I'd say not hitting that. EVER.

And finally, my favorite. This is just the kind of FREAK groupie my boy is used to beating off with his bass at a Butlik show. Hell to the yeah! Heff'd hit that then order up some Moo Goo Gai Pan for after.

Happy Mother's Day to all you mutha's and to you Heffy, my favorite mutha.

Thanks for playing along.

The Lies That Bind

"Any story sounds true until someone tells the other side and sets the record straight" Proverbs 18:17

Lies.

They mess with your head and your life and when you live with lies, the lines between truth and falsehood become blurred. Somewhere along the way the lie becomes a truth to the one who tells it. It's a commitment both powerful and pathetic and like a drug you need to tell more to keep it going. The truth so terrifying, the lie must be given new life. It is in that commitment that the liar finds solace, comfort and conviction in the lie that is now their reality.

Now it looks like a truth.
Now it sounds like a truth.
So if it looks and sounds like a truth, then it must be the truth. Right?

Wrong.

It's still a lie and a bigger, fatter lie at that, more destructive than a plague as it eats away at your soul.

Don't be fooled by the fool. The fool makes bad choices and continues to tell you lies to save face. Like the sage gypsy once said, "In a previous life the fool gave you up to the enemy to save himself."

Lucky for me, I survived. I am stronger than the enemy, the fool and a lie.

If you digest the deception and believe, you are doomed. It's that simple. Karma is a pit bull and it will come back to bite you. So if you take the bait, knowing all that you know, you are deserving of the destruction. As pathetic as he and living in the wake of the lying destruction. Don't say I didn't warn you. It is here in print.

Good luck.

You will most certainly need it.

Breathtaking

Oh my...

This photo of The Tommy and Giselle at the 2011 Met Gala took my breath away.

Simply stunning and impeccable. The problem is that it wasn't the Tommy that caused my shortness of breath. It was Giselle.

The Tommy cleans up real good in this photo, (and it's about freaking time) but HER? I'm almost speechless. She is breathtaking. And she's the enemy, but in this dress she is more than a formidable enemy.

As a lover of fashion and all things beautiful, I'm at a loss to find flaw with her here. She is sheer and enviable perfection.

Damn it. I might even admit to a slight girl crush on Gi after seeing her in this dress. It's Alexander McQueen, and what a coup d'etat for her to appear in the worlds hottest design house since the Royal wedding, the designer of the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton's wedding dress.

Damn.

The Tommy and his bride Giselle=WINNING.

Now let's take that to the field.

Ding Dong The Witch Is Dead

President Obama announced last night that Osama Bin Laden is dead.

And that the US killed him and took possession of his body after a fire fight.

The weird thing is, I don't know how I'm supposed to feel about this. Should I be rejoicing and singing a jolly old tune about how we can now "get out of bed because the wicked witch is dead"? Well I don't feel that way. In fact, I'm not sure what I feel about this, but I'm more than sure it's not great, what I feel.

Is there something wrong with me? I felt this way too, when we captured and imprisoned and then executed Saddam Hussein. It just doesn't feel right. So this then begs the question, what is justice for the hundreds of thousands of American lives these two evil dictators have cost us?

The bible says, "an eye for an eye", so why am I having such trouble with this? It's the death thing I have a problem with. Is it up to us to decide the fate of these terrible, horrid human beings lives? I guess so. We have the death penalty in some states in this country for punishment for horrible crimes committed. I would say that Osama and Saddam both deserved the death penalty for their crimes, but when it comes to actually flipping the switch, I'd have a hard time.

I suppose I would feel differently if (God forbid) one of my children were the victim of their reign of terror or a member of my family, and I hope I never have to find out, but I hope we have somehow gained our freedom from Al Qaeda today.

And a horrid human being like Osama Bin Laden.
